So you believe that you are a body, and that you are separated from other people. But on the other hand you do not feel at home within your body. It seems that it has some sort of life of his own. It has all sorts of unknown demands that you should have to meet with regard to nutrition and sports. And at unexpected moments, something could start to dysfunction. This may vary from an itch or a little cut in your finger to broken bones and all kinds
of scary illnesses. Besides that, it is likely to start to decay from an early age on, in a certain yet slow road to an unavoidable end.
No wonder that there is some sort of hate-love relationship with your body. Because you have to deal with it, you seem to got stuck in it. It is what you use to express yourself to other personalities. It is the closest source to project your fears on. Not in the least because it certainly will stop to function one day. Thus ending the possibilities of your personality to use the body as a tool to express himself.
The idea that your mind has some form of influence over your body is becoming more popular these days. For some symptoms, like an ulcer or high blood pressure, people tend to accept that there is a mental factor involved. For other things, like a broken leg or scary illnesses, rather not. Because why the hell would you want to have yourself experience that kind of things?
Let's explore the following idea: your personality finds himself in a situation in which he feels very unpleasant. For example a new manager in the office who does not seem to notice him. He cannot get any grip on the situation, so he cannot "fix" your world. But a tremendous amount of unpleasant thoughts is likely to pass through your awareness, resulting in feelings of anger, uncertainty, powerlessness etcetera. Meanwhile you are likely
to do your job. Now this is not in the interest of your personality, who wants you to do as he promotes, which is: attack someone for this seemingly injustice. As soon as the power in you that lets you continue to work, faints for a moment, or when your personality simply is stronger, then it is likely that your personality will take over from here and try to control the situation his way.
Preferably your personality will project his frustration on someone else, whether it is the right person or not. So in a situation as described here, you may well find yourself fighting with your spouse for example, but this will not bring any real solution. The new manager usually cannot be attacked directly, due to job security. Energy your personality cannot get rid of outside himself, he is likely to project inward to the only tool that he
fully controls, and that is your body. So after a while it is likely that you will start to notice symptoms of illness, the energy has now taken form.
Being ill therefore is not the result of tension, being ill is tension, created as a reaction to your own neutrality or inner Strength.
But now there is something "wrong" with your body, and your personality will let you focus on the level of the body to find a solution for your problems. Now there is a whole industry to assist you here: doctors, specialists, pharmaceuticals etc. They will be assigned a status of "the ones who are able to locate and solve your problems".
Sometimes the solution gets as radical as not being able to work anymore, a way in which your personality successfully prevents you from being in a likewise situation again. In other situations, the attention that you get from the medical circuit can be a positive compensation for the lack of attention and recognition in your direct surroundings, and your personality will hide the fact from your awareness that this is only possible at the cost
of your health.
You may understand by now that an approach like this bears in it the seed of the next bodily dysfunction. Because when you do not focus on the cause but do take away the effects, then it is likely to express itself in new ways.
Facing this is very unpleasant for your personality, because this implies that he bears responsibility. He now can no longer hide from your awareness that he uses the body and the socially accepted status of being ill, to avoiding having to face and solve the real problems. This would rob him from his safe haven. And when you start to understand how the world of your personality works, you would soon realize that it is not at all as great as your
personality has tried to make you believe over the years.
It is not wrong what your personality does, it is what personalities do. Becoming aware of this principle brings you one step closer to increasing the mental space to remember your inner Self.
It is not about being free of symptoms (because then you would give them a status in themselves, being: unwanted, thus feeding your personality again), it is about becoming aware of your inner Self, and then it no longer matters how seemingly nice or unpleasant the situations are through which you learn to do so, because that in itself is a judgment of your personality.
A lot of people who face a life-threatening disease may notice for example that they had forgotten their inner Selves almost completely, and have used the fear and shock about the possible death to bring about this change in themselves. But you do not have to suffer from a terminal illness in order to come to the same conclusions.
Now when you are willing to become more aware of all this, it is not meant to increase feelings of fear. And these feelings can be pretty intense when it comes to bodily issues, especially when your personality does not get what he believes he needs. Some medical treatments are very practical too: when your leg is broken, you have it splint, you remove a splinter and you go to the dentist when you have a hole in your tooth. So do whatever it is
that your personality thinks he needs or has to do. Do not judge yourself for going to a doctor or taking an aspirin. Just do it, and meanwhile use it as tools to become more aware of the ways of your personality and make mental space to remember who you really are.
