Your Self is always with you
You are your Self already, this means it is always there with you, it is there already in every situation. So all those times your personality wants you to believe you are separated, fearful, guilty, angry or irritated, your inner Self and the accompanying very pleasant experience of inner Peace literally is only one mindswitch away. This can be comforting to know, since so often it
seems that a solution is miles and miles away when you go through a difficult situation, and it seems the experience could not be changed in the moment itself, only afterwards through reliving it. So you need not wait until you have 'time', or find yourself in special circumstances or places in order to allow yourself to experience the situation through your inner Self, you can use the moment itself for that and need not postpone anything. Your Self is there already, here, now, you only forgot how
to focus on it. And you can change that if you want to.
So your Self is there also when you find yourself in a traffic jam, face difficulties, watch tv, work in the garden, go to your parents, have a dental appointment, are surfing the internet, apply for a job, repair your house, go shopping, when someone is rude to you, when you are making dinner, or when you go to a party. I deliberately made a lot of variation in the list, since these
are all examples of situations where your personality usually is prominently present, and it seems like you are unable to experience your Self there.
And yet, being your Self is about this kind of everyday situations, and consciously making the choice in the moment itself to experience this through your inner Self. You need not do anything special for this, only make the mental switch from your personality to your inner Self. What you need for that? Know that you have an inner Self - which is taken care of now -, realize that you
do not want the offerings of your personality - which is often more challenging, since you have taught yourself that you do want these, even the unpleasant ones. And then consciously ask your inner Self to enter your awareness, while letting go of your investment in the personality aspects of the issue as much as possible. Your Self will gently occupy the space you made available, however, it will not force itself into space you do not offer it. So when you do not experience this shift, you now
know that you were not as willing as you thought to make mental space available.
