Do you have to analyze and reason about everything that happens?

The form, chosen by your personality, in which to "forget" who you really are, is not interesting in itself. More interesting is the way in which you are going to remember who and what you really are. However, since you have made the form in which you forgot so "true" for yourself, it can come in handy to take a closer look at it and really see it is only make-believe. In that way it can serve you  to face what happened in a certain situation, and become aware of the steps your personality takes, his way of thinking, and the standards and values he promotes through it.

Analyzing, and especially reasoning, imply that you are attempting to make things logical somehow. And logic means that you first have to believe that the subject at hand is a truth in itself; this automatically means that is will be used by your personality. He may then want to explain, prove that is is right anyway, justify it because more people do this, etc., thus upholding and strengthening his worldview. Actually, you can open any psychology book in order to find out how personalities work. Even though these books may explain that all this is learned behaviour, the missing option there is that you can choose to stop investing energy in it, that you can un-learn, let go.

Whereas the process of becoming aware, simply face what is going on and recognizing this process is a choice, rather than a truth in itself, helps you in a direct way. The interesting part is the mental choice you can make in each and every situation: do I use it to strengthen my personality or my inner Self. And you will not be surprised to learn that there are hundreds of thousands of ways and situations to practice this.
