Can I strengthen my inner Self while being at work?

Giving attention to your inner Self is independent of time, place and circumstances. Okay, just like every other change that you want to make in a familiar pattern, it will need some conscious attention. Since that was your goal anyway, it's not a bad thing. You might for example make a note in your agenda, or have your electronic diary beep at times to remind you that you want to spend some time with your inner Self. You need to do that for no longer than ten or twenty seconds at a time. Although that may seem very short, it is not likely that you will experience it as such, try it! Let's be honest, ten to twenty seconds is a break you should be able to make every now and then.

It is even recommended that you make remembering your inner Self NOT into something special. Your personality would love to, so that he can easily lock it out of your awareness and use all kinds of excuses to do it. Excuses like not having time, that it takes too long, that the phone just rang, or that there was too much noise, etc. A few seconds can never be a problem in itself, you just have to e.g. stare at your computer screen without focusing. Use some of the time that you cán spare when you go to the bathroom for instance. With a bit of creativity, a lot of opportunities can be found (this is already done for you in the BEcourses, so if you like ....)

Your aim is not as much a change in your consciousness, it is remembering your total consciousness and the choices you can make on how to use it. Your personality only uses a part of it, and what you can do is remember the rest. In order to do that you do not close your mind off, but open it instead.

Take it easy in the beginning. Do not attempt to practice more than a few times a day for a few seconds. Otherwise it is very likely that your personality will come up with huge amounts of thoughts: "It takes too long". "What are you doing", "Stop with this because there are all kinds of important things to be done", etc. Before you know it, it is all personality stuff again.

When the time comes that you enjoy it so much that you might want to spend a bit more time on this, you can do two things. Make your boss and colleagues as enthusiastic as you are, letting each other to see this as a normal aspect of your day for which you are allowed to set some time apart. Or you limit yourself to the short exercises during the day, while setting some time apart before or after work to exercise. By the way, a little walk can also be an excellent opportunity to practice. It is not only by bringing your awareness to your inner Self that you can  practice. It is also by becoming aware of the ways of your personality and stop to believe and strengthen them that you will move into this direction. And for this you no doubt have an endless amount of opportunities during the day to practice!
