Awareness taken over by your personality

Just like with everything else, sooner or later your personality will use the process of increasing Awareness for his own interests. He will notice the characteristics of your inner Self which appeal to you, and/or of which he has read or heard, an then states that he is the aspect which will 'realize' this for you.

For example inner Peace. He cannot make this for you, however, he can come up with a number of circumstances where he can approach this: especially in the absence of input, however also limited or pleasant input or a focus like with an exercise can serve him well. Since the less input you have, the less judgements he has to make, and so this resembles a kind of peace. Or a more pleasant personality experience. Also closing your mind on things is an option here.

In this way, you are going to 'do' awareness. With rules to follow. Things do do or not do. Places to be. Attempts to make things work anyway. Etc. So the experience is no longer independent from people and circumstances and its goal has changed. And it is nowhere near as pleasant, logical and natural for you, since you only slow down your personality, but you do not make the mental switch to your inner Self. And so your personality has successfully returned to what his true focus is: having you forget your inner Self.

When you notice at a given moment that awareness no (longer) brings you at least moments of the truly pleasant and attractive experience of your inner Self, independent from people and circumstances, clear, logical, Peaceful, Free and Sure, then you may well assume that the above has entered your process (once more). It now should not be too hard to recognize which rules your personality has introduced to take over ;-)
