When you find it hard to choose for your inner Self

Of course it is not always easy to stop investing energy in a thought pattern that you have entertained for so many years. Your usual justifications when you do follow it, are likely to come into your awareness anyway, and now all of a sudden you seem 'crazy' to no longer listen to them.

What you could do, is make it a little easier for your personality to let go. You may do so by making the process of letting go, reversible in the beginning. This means that you do let go, however, you allow your personality the opportunity to get back in charge and interfere when he really believes things are getting all wrong. In this way you can have the idea that letting go does not have to be a definite step, which may make it easier on your personality to cooperate. Simply practice the idea that when you do not like it, you can always return to the situation as it was, this is a solution to which your personality can hardly protest.

It is a fine way to practice letting go without too much resistance from your personality. Since he does not have to fight to be recognized nor against what he sees as his undermining, or that you no longer want to listen to him, the whole process is no longer so threatening to him. And after a while you will simply forget that there was any conditionality involved and you stay with the new approach where you have let go.
