What do you actually fear?
Sometimes you can make it easy on yourself to become more aware of the role of your personality by asking yourself a simple question. The above one is one you can literally use in every situation: what is it that you actually fear? Since it is obvious that your personality is afraid. Fear is at the basis of your personality, since he knows too well that you may find out that he cannot make true what was 'promised' to you when you created
your present personality worldview - with help from others - as an alternative to your inner Self: the idea of a fine and pleasant life, which you can shape and control to your liking. There is a continuous more or less obvious threat that this will surface in your awareness, and your personality will want to avoid this at every expense. And because of the idea of separation, entertained by your personality, and the fact that we somehow have agreed upon not to talk about these things, it also seems
that you are the only person who cannot make this work.
What is it that you are afraid of? Having to face the unpleasant consequences of your interpretations which result in unpleasant feelings, to become aware of things, to fail, to be hurt, that things are not well enough, to be rejected, that you will lose a certain thing, to become sick, to lose control, that it will not be as pleasant later on, pain, silence, failure, sadness, deprivation, .... need I say more?
By facing this, the process itself becomes less vague to you. And your personality loves vagueness, distracting you from what is really going on at the very basis of a situation. So a question like the above can bring you a little further in your process of awareness. And as a solution you might consider: do fail your personality goal, since then you can open up to the true way of looking at a situation, the one you are really looking
for, in the absence of your personality.
