Are feelings really as necessary as you think they are? (or: isn't being your Self very boring?)

Feelings are the working space of your personality. They are one of the steps in its ongoing process of perceiving > judging/interpreting > feeling: nice or not nice > hold on to or get rid of feeling. And later on: attempting to repeat pleasant ones and avoid unpleasant ones.

Becáuse feelings are part of the personality process, your personality states that it is normal and logical that you have these. Also he states that when you would nót have them anymore (which, according to him, is impossible), it would be boring and empty. To him, feelings are simply part of it all and you cannot do nor be without them. Seen from his perspective, this is logical, since it is one of the steps in the essence of your personality. And a successful concept to put it this way: since it is so logical to him, you will not be likely to question it. On the other hand, your personality, as a layer you taught yourself to be, cannot know what is there when he is not involved.

Feelings are moments only which you have to repeat in the way as described above, you can easily notice this yourself, a feeling of 'nice' for example is gone very fast, and you will have to repeatedly move through the process of judgment again in order to call on it once more within yourself. Your personality is a choice which you repeat out of habit, however, it does not have any power in itself. So you can also let go of your investment in it if you like.

So your personality cannot imagine what is there when there are no feelings, and yet this does not mean this were to be an unattractive state of mind. On the contrary! There is nothing as pleasant as being your Self. And you do not have to 'do' anything to be yourself, therefore it is there already always. Effortless, peaceful, free, joyful, logical and familiar. Without having to do anything, regardless of circumstances, people etc. You only distract yourself from this feeling through endlessly repeating the abovementioned process.

Awareness is not about hiding feelings, or repressing them, it is not about its opposite like 'insensitive', it is about becoming aware of, facing and letting go of your investment in the process in which you make them. And while looking at this, asking yourself whether this is as pleasant as you thought it was ;-) and realizing there is a choice, you do not háve to do this. Thus you will be less and less willing to repeat these patterns and mental space will become available to experience your inner Self more and more. The essence of your inner Self is Love, which is a very attractive experience, and you will remember along the line that this starts within yourself and so you never have to be without it!
