Invite your inner Self

Allowing your inner Self to practically be in charge of your life is in fact incredibly easy to do. You simply ask: what is it that you want me to do here, I now ask for input from my inner Self. Then you wait for inspiration. No question, choice or decision is too small or too unimportant to submit to your inner Self. In fact, it may even be easier for you to start with surrendering small decisions rather than big ones, so that your personality will not get the idea that he is being undone in a way that makes him get defensive beforehand.

Your problem lies more in the fact that your personality believes that he already knows the answer to the question you put here, does not want to lose his control over a situation, believes that it has lasted too long already, etc, and tries to interfere with this new process. Often enough it is necessary to let your personality have his way anyway, and bring to mind anything that he believes you should know or do or consider. That's all right, this too can be part of the process of letting go, at least, when you do not use these items you brought up to believe that these are truths in themselves. Once your personality has brought it all to your awareness (and writing is often a practical option for that, however, destroy the piece of paper on which you wrote it afterwards, since this represents all you do NOT want), his claim on your awareness usually weakens considerably, and now you can find mental space within yourself to listen to other sources of inspiration. In order to do so, you may want to actively change the focus of your awareness away from the thought patterns in your head, for example by concentrating your awareness on your breathing for a while.

You will know when response comes from your inner Self. It will feel extremely simple and obvious, and it will pop into your awareness without having to do anything special. It comes with a peaceful certainty, a knowing this is the only 'right' thing to do. You will even find that you do not feel any need to reason about it, or justify it, you simply know it is good and has to be this way, whatever comes from it. Should you doubt the source of your inspiration, simply ask once again. And when you start to notice little itches of irritation for example, rest assured that your personality was involved here. O, and do not forget that receiving no inspiration to do something can be an answer as well. Then there simply need not be anything done. This is not a faulty answer, nor miscommunication, failure from your inner Self or whatever. And do not forget it is likely that you have to learn again to get to know how to recognize your inner Self.
