Love yourself?

It is a popular idea that you should be able to love yourself. And everybody who hears this, thinks: that is logical, and a bit of self exploration will soon have you come to the conclusion: I do not do that enough.

Let's take a closer look at this question: what is it that you should love when you love yourself? Practically seen, it would be about: your body and the way you live your life. And these are excellent personality territories to begin with. Since 'the way you live your life' has to do with the way your personality makes life work for you. It would be very nice for him if you were able to 'love' this. A similar thing applies to your body and what he uses it for.

Your personality does not really know about loving. The essence of your personality is separation, dependence on circumstances and such, and loving is about unity, and regardless of the circumstances. Now your personality knows very well this is what you are longing for. And so you will find him cooperative in doing something about it. Your personality states: it should be possible to love yourself (read: him), and that you are not successful in this at the moment may be a minor error, however, it can be repaired, trust him. In this way he is likely to keep you reasonably satisfied and can send you on an endless search for something which cannot be found there in the first place. So an ideal personality tool! Become aware of this, and no longer be distracted by it. Love cannot be found through your personality.

Is it possible then to love your Self, your inner Self? Not in the literal sense of the word. Your Self 'is' love, so you cannot love it, you áre it. So when you are yourself you  áre Love. It simply is there, as a characteristic of the state of Being. It does not depend on anything, you cannot lose it. Something like 'solid' being a characteristic of rocks, or 'wet' of the sea.
