This is not really me

When you find yourself once again in a situation where nothing seems to work anymore, where you are stuck in familiar personality patterns which do not bring you anything, then you may want to use these reminders:

This is not really me. These are reactions from my personality only, based on some perceptions and assumptions, and this has nothing to do with who I really am. I can let go of this whenever I want to, and free myself from the limitations I have imposed on myself (and others).

I am not this opinion, this point of view, this job, this knowledge, this feeling, this role, I am only pretending to be and accidentally started to believe that these things meant something within themselves.

I do not need this to really feel good. I do not need to be right, or better than others or whatever, since I now know that would not bring me anything I really want.

I no longer look for evidence to make these personality ideas true, I will now look for 'evidence' to remember the truth about my inner Self, and for that I can use anything: situations, people, myself.

There is nothing 'vague' or 'others' outside myself who for some inexplicable reason do not want to give me what my personality believes he is entitled to. Other people do not have to do or not do anything to make me feel good. I myself do not have to do or be anything either before I can allow myself to feel good. Since who I really Am is always there, changeless, joyful and quiet within me, and I no longer want to use this situation to prevent me from experiencing my Self, since I like that far better than this.

Now do not be surprised to find that you may have to repeat these things to yourself quite some times, since personalities usually are willing to let go in small steps only. The amount of steps you take, however, does not say anything about the value of the process that you are engaged in, nor the results you are about to experience.
