Is this the same as positive thinking?

Let's start with helping that out of the world: NO. Positive thinking is a funny invention from personalities to keep themselves busy. At first your personality creates a world in which you can hardly move at all in a natural way because of all the limitations, judgments and rules, causes and effects that he projects on it. And then he introduces the following thought: yeah, but I am a positive thinker, so everything will be all right as long as I think positive enough. And before you know it you are all involved in creating a positive thinking pattern, whatever that may be.

Do you really know what is positive for you? Hmm. What do you really believe now that you see this in writing? It does have a reason, you know, that a lot of people resist the idea of these artificial thought systems, they somehow know that it is not natural. Being actively positive resembles the choice to not accept the negative in your life. And, like any other thing you hide or push away, it will sooner or later express itself.

Happenings and circumstances in your life, from the perspective of your inner Self, are neither positive nor negative. They all hold the possibility of contributing to your personal awareness: by moving through any situation that comes up, and learn the lessons it holds out to you. Remember that there are a lot of people out there who had to live through what seemed on the outside extremely unpleasant situations, and yet they would not have missed that experience for the world, because of the lessons it contained? And let's be honest, a divorce, being fired, serious illness or burnout are usually not on top of anybody's list of positive events, and yet they can turn out to be huge lessons in remembering.

An important part of the process that those people go through, is allowing their real thoughts and feelings into their awareness, and taking a better look at them. Feel the feelings of resistance that they cause because this situation does not meet their "success standards". Feelings of fear that things will never be the same again, powerlessness, a future that seems to be out of control. Feelings of weakness and dependency. Especially looking at these thought patterns and allowing them into your awareness holds the key to loosen the grip they have on you. No, you do not have a solution. There is no guarantee that this will turn out for the good. Now what? People who face this, are now more likely to turn to their inner Self, because their personality is now really convinced that it cannot find a workable solution within its scope of possibilities. And their inner Self will give them a feeling of inner peace, wholeness and acceptance, whatever their outer circumstances may be.

Now it is not guaranteed, even when you move through such a process, that you are ready to surrender to your inner Self, and then you keep on looking for answers within the world. That is not a bad thing to do, everyone dus what he or she can take at a given time, and that has a value in itself. But you will notice that the acceptance of the situation that they are in remains a painful process and a source of anxiety for themselves and their environment.
