Let's be really honest
Let us put it straight for once: it is NOT funny here in this world whenever you look at it through the eyes of your personality. Deep within you you hate other people, and they never do exactly what you want. You are not fully happy with your body, you life, your relations, your work, about the amount of time, what it is that you do. You also do not really feel at home here. There is always a threat
of unpleasant things. For yourself, your body, others. Aggression, theft, shortage, illness, death, fighting, failure. Your personality does not even want you to really succeed, and only allows crumbs of what should be pleasant experiences. As soon as things start to get "nice" he will start to undermine you in more or less subtle ways and will endlessly repeat potential dangers and unpleasantness.
Why do we make such a mess? Because we try to be something that we are really not. Being separated and alone is not our nature, and that is exactly what your personality makes out of what he experiences: a world of his own. The opposite of your peaceful inner Self is an anxious, lonely, fearful personality. Who reacts on his own interpretations of what he perceives, a pattern thoroughly cultivated over the years.
Now, you must have experienced by now that that is not the least bit of fun really. Whether you are aware of your original feelings, or camouflage them in a sauce of socially acceptable reactions, seemingly balanced interpretations, or project them away on others or your body.
But you are NOT your personality. Okay, you do invest a lot of time and energy in it. And it will be a pretty intense job to unmask and undo the complex structures it made. But it can be done. It is not wrong to have a personality, simply a game you play of which the end is certain. Look around at this site for further inspiration.
