Your body in the right perspective

According to your personality it is somewhat like this: you are a body, and there is also something like 'thoughts', and you use these to create an idea of 'self'. You may have heard about 'soul' or likewise, but this remains a somewhat vague concept. Apparently you 'are' a body. Seen in this perspective, you are likely to focus on your body and look for fulfilment there: what can you do with it, what can you experience through it, etc.

Seen from the perspective of your personality, this reasoning is quite logical. And yet: it is not correct, since you leave out an essential aspect. In order to realize what is the true perspective, you therefore cannot reason backwards, but have to start at the source in order to include what you have forgotten.

Your mental essence, your inner Self, is your natural state of Being. In this world you attempt to connect to a different essence you call material, represented by the body. You do so by focussing on that body and separating off a piece of your mental capacity and use it to imagine and experience all kinds of things with and through the body. You also assume that it should be possible to successfully combine these two completely different essences, and the fact that you do not convincingly succeed in this, you see as a personal mistake.

With regard to this last issue I can reassure you immediately: it simply is not possible, these two essences cannot be combined. You do not forget your normal state of Being for no good reason, once you remember your Self again, this impossibility becomes more and more clear to you. Understanding the ongoing feeling of unease that you cannot make things really work for you, and knowing it is only natural that you do not succeed in this, allows you to release the effort you put in attempting to correct this. You simply cannot feel at home in a body, since it is a complete stranger to what you really are.

For your personality, it is important to uphold the image of a separate body and a kind of separate life, since these is what he can identify with and what he has made his territory, and because it is in no way compatible with your inner Self, he can easily maintain the idea that he himself is the only aspect of 'you'.

Your inner Self knows that your body is neutral in itself, and will use it as a communication device only, so it will not use it to project all kinds of things onto, nor expect it to give input for mental processes. This as opposed to the use your personality sees for it, which is as a source of experiences, something that can fail for no reason, can have needs you cannot control, etc. Often enough you will notice this kind of seemingly uncontrollable issues as a kind of reaction when your personality believes he loses control (through either pleasant or unpleasant experiences), and he has judged a reaction to be 'necessary'. (And a reaction in a body which in itself is neutral, cannot be but imbalance - so you no longer have to wonder why these are always unpleasant).

Just like with all other personality issues, facing the true source and your own part in it, are the essence of understanding the issues with regard to your body. Now you can see that you do play an active role yourself, why you do so, that it does not bring you what you really want, and can actively choose to let your investment in it go. And just like it is with all other personality issues, the goal of your personality is to have you focus on solving and reacting on resúlts of the mechanism perceiving > judging/interpreting > feeling > attempt to get rid of feeling.

It is not that interesting to find out why your personality chooses a certain reaction, it is about you realizing it is a choice, aiming at maintaining his own influence. Your personality can exist only when you keep on repeating the thought system that is him, so when you stop this, you also stop creating its effects.

Also, it is not about what you can make a body do and what you can experience through your body. It is about recognizing all these do not bring you anything that you are truly looking for. Let it become an acceptable thought over time that you actually do not have a true goal for your body in itself, and therefore have no interest in finding things to do for it through your personality. You may trust your inner Self to use the body neutrally for communication purposes only.
