The same old song
It happens many times a day, for example when someone criticizes you. That will result in unpleasant feelings, because your personality interprets this as an attack. To make sure that you will not have to experience these feelings in full, you will start to defend yourself, and in your head you will notice all kind of mental activity which in the end will make you believe that you were "good" after all, and that
the criticism of the other was not so bad, or preferably not justified. If you cannot make it work like this all by yourself, you are likely to talk about the situation at hand with others, and it will be in your mind until it is more or less neutralized again, be it through solving it or hiding the feelings. Now this principle works also in situations where other people for example do not do what you want them to.
It is the same old song, and an endless repetition of the same pattern: rather than facing the unpleasant feelings and questioning the principle of interpreting and judging itself, your personality diverts your attention in a way that will uphold the principle itself, so he makes sure that you only focus on the symptoms. But you know by know: there is a choice here. No longer take it for granted
that you are judging and interpreting, and inevitably have to face all the unpleasantness that comes from it. It is not necessary, it costs a lot of attention, tension and energy. It is only that you are not familiar with the alternative, and have learned to see the routine of your personality as somewhat acceptable, which prevents you from making this step, together with the fear to let go of what you know, and trade your control for inspiration. In a situation like this, simply ask your inner
Self to interpret the situation for you. And as your inner Self does not judge, that is a simple and yet very effective way to make a change.
