If only two interpretations were possible
Forget for a moment everything you ever thought was possible to use for judging and interpreting situations, and imagine that you now only have two labels left to use: "I have used this situation to forget" or " to remember who I really am". Now what would your worldview and experiences be like?
How would you label your experiences with the aggression from a fellow-car driver, or your irritation about something that did not happen. How would you judge the junk, your parents, your boss and your neighbor. How would you label your hurry to be in time for a meeting, your experiences while playing a computer game?
You may have assumed already that "forgetting" equals repeating and thus strengthening the thought patterns of your personality (and includes a.o. all your feelings), and that "remembering" is about making mental space available for your inner Self, thus allowing the experience of inner Peace to enter your awareness, while you use the situation for strengthening and sharing this Remembrance. It does not matter what situation you apply
this to, since your personality makes your own personal experience of it, based on its unique mix of rules and standards and experiences. One person can use aggression in traffic for remembrance, the other person can use the same situation for forgetting.
It is unpleasant having to face the fact that the number of times that you label a situation as "used for forgetting who I really am" is much higher than the number of times where you label it as "used for remembering who I really am". This is likely to cause irritation in you, and your personality is likely to stop this silly game. Now this is normal for your personality, since here it becomes so very clear what he is actually doing
in your life, and he can not hide it from your awareness. This does not matter, use little exercises like this to get used to these ideas, and each and every situation that you use to increase your awareness will strengthen your remembrance of your inner Self.
