Why?

One of the most simple and yet powerful questions you can ask yourself is: why? Since this question will make you become painfully aware of the limited answers your personality can come up with. Why do you do this? Why do you want that anyway? Why do you believe this to be true about yourself? Why do you give the other person any power over you? This will painfully reveal the real motivations of your personality.

Now when your personality does come up with an answer, you could ask the same question once again. Why do you have to have more money. Why do you have to be successful. Why do other people have to like you. Etc. And you may continue to answer this simple question. Now there will come a moment where your personality no longer can come up with a successful answer, and then you are likely to experience things like irritation, and reactions like "simply because I want to" and things like that. Your personality hopes that you will consider this to be acceptable answers to the question: because he wants to or believes this to be right. This is a fine attempt to try to position himself as a truth in himself.

With a question like this you are likely to question the foundations of your personality. It can be used effectively to introduce some doubt here and there. Do not overdo it, however, it is not meant to attack your personality or to defeat it at once, that would only induce tension and resistance. However, three questions a day is a good prescription!
